Bay Whales to Hay Bales Variety Bash
The Car 76 'Dancing Queens' team are participating in the 2011 XXXX Gold Bay Whales to Hay Bales Variety Bash.
Our team is comprised of Queensland nurses Auriel Robinson, Vicki Smyth, Anne-Maree Daly and Glenda Kerr.
This year's bash will start in Hervey Bay on Thursday 18th August and will head west before finishing at the Gympie Music Muster on Saturday 27th August.

We'll be overnighting along the way at Landcruiser Mountain Park via Gayndah for lunch, Warwick via Pittsworth, Goondiwindi via Inglewood, Lightning Ridge via Mungindi, Nindigully via Dirranbandi, Miles via Surat, Cracow via Taroom, Kingaroy via Chinchilla, before finishiing with 2 nights at the Gympie Muster. Along the way we'll witness miles of smiles as we visit many schools and witness Variety officials make presentations of much needed equipment for children whose families and carers rely on Variety Queensland for assistance. By supporting our fundraising efforts you'll be supporting Variety, the Children's Charity, and helping them to raise their 2011 goal of more than $2million.
By entering this event, we have committed to raising a minimum of $7500 donation for Variety, the Children's Charity.
All costs of preparing and running the vehicle, entry fees etc are paid by our team personally. NO sponsorship money goes to car or personal expenses - it all goes to the kids via Variety.
We were 3rd highest fundraisers in the 2010 Bash with almost $65000 and would love to at least get in the Top 10 again for the 2011 Bash. 2010's achievement was due to a lot of luck, a lot of help (and a bit of hard work) and are extremely appreciative of those supporters who helped us. You have made a wonderful contribution to Variety, the Children's Charity.
How can you help
Please contact us. Our main source of fundraising is by providing volunteers to work the bar or sell drink tickets at the Roma Races and some similar events.
These are spread over the year and we can do with as many volunteers as possible. They are a fun weekend away with minimal cost involved. No experience is necessary - just your time and a willing and able body!
